Over $600,000 To Benefit Youth Shooting Sports Teams Through SSSF’s Reload For 2021 Campaign
Despite an interrupted year, the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) continued to create competition and fundraising opportunities for its Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) teams. Conducting its most successful fundraising effort to date, the SSSF’s Reload For 2021 campaign collectively produced over $600,000 to benefit of youth shooting teams. This highly successful campaign provides immediate funds that teams can use for the 2021 shooting season AND provides funds to their MidwayUSA Foundation team endowment account to benefit teams FOREVER.
October 12th through December 31st, SCTP and SASP teams used local networks, social media, and other strategies to secure support from enthusiastic donors. These proactive efforts in communities across the nation secured funds for existing shooting teams, and will help create new teams where none exist today.
Further encouragement to connect with local communities was fueled by bonus fundraising competitions for most dollars raised and most unique donors. The SSSF awarded an additional $60,000 pool of funding to teams claiming those accolades in places 1st through 6th, with those funds being allocated to team endowment accounts held at the MidwayUSA Foundation. Through their hard work, participating SCTP and SASP teams collectively received over $311,000 in donations for their 2021 shooting sports season. The SSSF further supplemented those efforts with team endowment matching funds of just over $306,000, bringing the incredible campaign total to over $600,000 in support of youth shooting sports teams!
“The enthusiastic support gathered by participating teams signals the positive health of shooting sports as a whole and further inspires our efforts to foster youth development through our SCTP and SASP programs,” said SSSF President and Executive Director, Ben Berka. “2019’s fundraising goal of $200,000 to benefit youth shooting sports teams was met and surpassed, so we set a much higher goal of $300,000 with the Reload for 2021 campaign. In just over two months, participating teams blew away the previous record! Seeing such incredible, focused support for these youth shooting teams is some inspiring news as we begin the second half of the 2020-2021 shooting sports season.”
