The Perfect Shot for Dinosaurs could only have been written by Philip Massaro. Following in the footsteps of great writers like Dr. Kevin Robertson and Craig Boddington, Phil takes a hardcore look at what it would take a Grand Slam of Dinosaurs. Every hunter should have this on the shelf next to the collection of great writers like Capstick, Hemingway, Ryan and O’Connor. A day without laughter is a day wasted. – Charlie Chaplin
The Perfect Shot for Dinosaurs offers a look at what it would take from shot placement, habits, physiology, hunting methods, suitable firearms choices, and ammo selection for the top twenty dinosaur species including great detailed drawings by renowned artist Laurie 0’Keefe including ghost views to expose vitals for each species as well as full drawings to help hunters easily and quickly identify correct prey in the field.
Whether you are looking for the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus or you prefer the flying challenge of hunting the Pteranodon or Quetzalcoatlus. Phil Massaro is an experienced ballistician and a dedicated hunter and shooter. His look at the Grand Slam of Dinosaurs is detailed and belongs on every hunting book shelf of any self-respecting hunter.
I picked up my copy as fast as I could get my hands on it from the team at Safari Press, at only $14.95, I wanted to make sure I had a copy as my dream hunt has always been the Brachiosaurus with its fifty-five foot tall head and it gives me a real reason to own a .338 Lupua which is my dream rifle for a hunt like this. They say it takes a village, heck take one of these great beasts and you could basically feed a full size city.
I had the chance to reach out to Phil directly:
What inspired you to write The Perfect Shot for Dinosaurs?
Perfect Shot was a joint collaboration between Yours Truly and Safari Press, we felt it was high time to address the many issues involved with hunting dinosaurs.
What can we expect to see coming down the line from you in the near future?
In the future, you can expect a steady flow of articles on topics from ballistics to hunting stories, from around the globe. I’m striving to share the love of international hunting.
If you had to choose only one of these great species, which one would you choose and why?
Of all the species covered in the book, the Stegosaurus is one of the most challenging to hunt. Yes, a T. Rex represents a challenge to those brave enough, but get in close to a bull Stegosaurus and you’ll definitely feel alive.
We are very sure that this is a book that belongs on your book shelf and the good news is these are reasonably priced so pick up a copy for your favorite hunting buddy because these kinds of adventures are best shared with a seriously large group of friends. If you thought packing out an elk was a pain in the butt, try packing out a T-rex.
