Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Elect First Millennial Appointee Ashley Langen to National Board of Directors
Former National Youth Leadership Council president brings new dynamic to leadership role
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever is proud to announce Ashley Langen as a recently elected member of the organization’s National Board of Directors. Distinguished as the first millennial appointee and former president of the National Youth Leadership Council, she now joins the organization’s 14-member board which meets quarterly and oversees the operations of Pheasants Forever, Inc. & Quail Forever.
“It is my distinct honor to welcome back Ashley to a leadership role within ‘The Habitat Organization,’” stated Howard Vincent, president and CEO of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. “As a former youth leader of the organization on a national stage with a deep-rooted background in agriculture and private lands conservation, she represents an important demographic for the future of upland hunting and habitat. I look forward to her engagement with our mission objectives in the years ahead.”
No stranger to Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever at an early age, Langen was raised in a family that helped found the Montgomery County Chapter of Pheasants Forever in Illinois. The family farm is where Langen developed an appreciation for wildlife and the hard work of private landowners to maintain quality wildlife habitat. “I have vivid recollections of completing math homework on the floor of my father’s combine during harvest season,” said Langen. “I would also tag along by his side in the field while he managed habitat acres; we would cut down locust trees, monitor the grasslands, and watch for wildflowers to bloom while enjoying pheasants and quail.”
Langen graduated from Illinois State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Agronomy and Crop Science. Following her higher education, she entered a three-year stretch of employment with Dow Agrosciences based in Kauai, Hawaii, focusing on seed production and capital project management. From 2015-present, Langen has developed her career with Wilbur-Ellis, a global services leader in precision agriculture technology and products, and in-market expansion services in the animal feed and specialty chemicals industries.
“The appointment to the Board of Directors has really come full circle for me. I wanted to be an advocate of the outdoors and conservation for younger members while serving on the National Youth Leadership Council. At present, I hope to continue that mission by offering a unique perspective to the board,” stated Langen.
