Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Hire Melissa Weaver as Michigan Regional Representative
Collaborating with 28 chapters and more than 7,500 members to deliver wildlife habitat
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to announce the hiring of Melissa Weaver to serve as regional field representative in the state of Michigan. In her new role, she will provide support for volunteers in the Great Lakes State, featuring 28 local chapters and more than 7,500 members. Weaver will collaborate with volunteer chapters to improve public and private lands conservation efforts for pheasants, quail and other wildlife.
“Melissa brings many valuable skills to the table and is years beyond her age,” said Jerry McDonald, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s field services manager. “She’s a proven team player who values hard work and effective communication. She’s felt at home in the natural world since she was very young and will bring hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm to her new position.”
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever empower county and local chapters with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds will be spent – the only national conservation organization that operates through this grassroots structure. As a result, chapter volunteers can see the fruits of their efforts locally, while belonging to a larger national organization with a voice on federal and state conservation policy. Weaver will help guide local chapters to achieve the organization’s mission in Michigan, including important work on the Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative and the Adopt-A-Game-Area Program and the organization’s monumental national campaign effort, Call of the Uplands®.

Weaver grew up in a farming community in northern Indiana where she fostered her love of the outdoors at an early age through both hunting and fishing. After high school she attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich., where she just graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She was recently recognized as a National Biological Honorary at Hillsdale College.
