Plano’s College of Bass Off to a Great Start

Kevin VanDam, one of the winningest anglers in history, has been providing viewers with tips, tricks and techniques to catch more bass on Plano’s Facebook page. Anglers can tune in to the College of Bass Wednesday at 7 pm Central time to catch the show live and pick the brains of some of the best pros in fishing. Don’t worry if you miss the broadcast; past episodes are available whenever you can log on.
Kevin VanDam may be known for his unique power fishing style, but the colder temperatures have him talking about finesse. In episode Three, the seven-time BASS Angler of the Year reveals secrets to coaxing bites from bass in water temperatures just this side of freezing. The pro discusses all things spinnerbait and the tweaks you can use to get strikes in any conditions. Gene Jensen—the Fluke Master—joins KVD to talk about on-the-water productivity. Jensen describes how he sets himself up for success with an organization system that makes the most of the confines of a kayak but transfers well to other watercraft and home.
Cold temperatures were on everyone’s mind again in episode four. KVD gives viewers a rundown on swimbaits and how to make them work for you in a variety of conditions. Jordan Lee, the two-time winner of the GEICO Bassmaster Classic, and one of only three anglers to win back-to-back Classics joins Kevin to share his winning techniques and take questions from viewers. The pair discusses the importance of water quality when fishing swimbaits and how to effectively work edges of cover. The duo also covers the water column from top to bottom, giving anglers a guide to the right weights needed to get in the strike zone.
Join Kevin VanDam for a crash course in catching more, and bigger bass at the College of Bass. Tune in to Plano’s Facebook page Wednesdays at 7 pm central time to chat with some of professional fishing’s greatest anglers, or catch up with all the great tips, tricks and fishing know-how later.
