Pope and Young and NBEF Encourage Completion of Online Bowhunter Education Course

Chatfield, MN – Pope and Young Club encourages bowhunters to take advantage of the shut-down to complete NBEF’s online bowhunter education course. If you are social distancing or sheltering in place but want to be ready to hit the woods, these courses fulfill the state requirements obtaining a bowhunting license. You can view the National Bowhunter Education Foundation courses for no fee. If you want to obtain certification, you will have unlimited opportunities to pass, and payment is not necessary until after you pass the final exam.

Courses provide the information you need to be an informed, safe, and a more successful bowhunter. Videos and shoot-don’t-shoot scenarios, as well as links to your state game and fish agency for specific hunter regulations, are provided in the course. Many states offer full certification upon completion of the online course. Go to www.bowhunter-ed.com. All courses offered by the National Bowhunter Education Foundation, meet or exceed requirements for state-to-state reciprocity, as well as international reciprocity.

“Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many states have canceled all in-person bowhunter education classes and field days until further notice,” said Marilyn Bentz, Executive Director for NBEF. “I am pleased that we were in a position to offer online options for obtaining bowhunter education certification.”

States currently requiring bowhunter education: AK, CT, ID, ME, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VT. State regulations requiring bowhunter education certification may apply to the entire state or particular areas of that state.  In addition, special hunts (such as urban deer hunts) may also require certification.  Always check the most recent state and local regulations.

For over 40 years, the NBEF has been dedicated to the education of bowhunters worldwide. Through the support of thousands of volunteer IBEP instructors and millions of students, bowhunter education has helped to make the sport of bowhunting what it is today.
