Professional angler John Cox strengthens commitment to Crestliner with major announcement for 2020

OTSEGO, Minn., (November 13, 2019) – John Cox has been a fixture on the FLW scene for nearly a decade, running his Crestliner PT20 and 1850 Bass Hawk to championship levels.  In 2020, in addition to a full schedule of FLW, the 2016 Forrest Wood Cup winner has announced he will be fishing in the Bassmaster Elite Series in 2020 – also with a Crestliner 1850 Bass Hawk.

Cox recently told Anglers Channel about his decision to fish in both series’, “I think we’re going to find out stuff as it goes so I feel like the best thing for me to do is to jump in both (tours) and make the decision in April, when I have to decide on one or the other.”

The Crestliner sponsored pro had a very successful 2019 season, one that saw him win at Lake Chickamauga, Tennessee in May on the FLW Tour and again in the same location later in the month on the Bassmaster Eastern Open series which qualified him for the Bassmaster Classic in 2020.  In all, Cox had three top-four finishes in FLW with more than $200K in earnings during the year. For the Debary, Florida native, 2019 was his best season on tour since 2016.

“John Cox is an incredible ambassador for the Crestliner brand, and we want to congratulate him on a very successful 2019 season,” said Lori Kneeland, Crestliner director of marketing. “We are excited to support John as he fishes not just FLW, but also the Bassmaster Elite Series in 2020.  It’s going to be fun to watch him out on the water this year and represent Crestliner at the Bassmaster Classic in March.”

In addition to his success on the water, Cox is a true champion of the Crestliner brand.  Multiple times a year, Cox supports Crestliner’s Angling Aces Student Angler Program giving seminars and providing the award winner a guided tour with him in Florida.

In nine years on tour, Cox has won more than $1.3M in career earnings with six tournament wins, 32 Top-10 finishes and seven cup appearances.
