Shimano’s proprietary DIAFLASH technology provides the expanded lineup of SLX A casting and spinning rods with lighter, stronger and more responsive blanks. Offering improved control when targeting trophy fish, DIAFLASH fortifies the butt section with diagonally wrapped carbon tape that forms an array of “X” shapes on the blank’s outermost layer. This reinforcing technology not only adds to the rod’s visual aesthetic but also increases the rigidity in the lower half of the blank, reducing ovalization and meeting the demands of contemporary bass presentations.
Anglers will find tournament-grade components and features along the entire length of each SLX A rod. Casting models incorporate K-style titanium oxide guides while spinning models feature single-foot guides, both with deep-drawn frames to help protect the guide insert, reduce friction and improve line management. Custom-tapered EVA split-grip handles transmit the slightest vibrations throughout the retrieve and enhance comfort during full-day angling adventures. The two swimbait-specific models feature full EVA foam rear grips and enlarged fore-grips to facilitate two-handed casting of big baits that trigger trophy bass.

The 7’5” Heavy power, Fast action casting rod (SLXC75HA) is the ideal choice for punching Texas-rigged plastics and tungsten weights through dense cover. Exceptional versatility is a hallmark of the 7’2” Medium Heavy power, Extra Fast action casting rod (SLXCX72MHA), allowing anglers to accurately present a variety of baits at both short and long ranges. This versatile casting rod is also available in a two-piece design (SLXCX72MHA2) for anglers on the go.
