Texas Trophy Hunters Association to Participate as a Sponsor of Third Annual Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest

On September 22, 2007, Students for the Second Amendment and the Collegiate Firearms Instructor Program will host the Third Annual Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest .  The Texas Trophy Hunters Association (TTHA) will participate as a sponsor of the event.

The event will take place at the National Shooting Complex located at 5931 Roft Road in San Antonio, Texas.  Attendees are asked to enter the complex from Gass Road.  Open to the public from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest is the largest NRA Shooting Sports Camp in the United States. More than 1,000 youths, parents, and adult leaders are expected to attend this year’s event. Youngsters aged 18 and under will be admitted free of charge. Registration for adults is $5.00. Activities at this year’s Sportsfest include: pistol, rifle, and shotgun shooting (including muzzleloading pistol and rifle), field archery, cowboy action shooting, bass casting and fishing, a “Hunters Skills Trail,” plus wildlife education displays, demonstrations of historic firearms, and much more. The Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest is an official NRA Shooting Sports Camp, in cooperation with the National Rifle Association , a National Hunting & Fishing Day event supported by the National Shooting Sports Foundation , and a Trailblazer Adventure Program as sponsored by the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance . Additionally, dozens of shooting and outdoor related organizations and manufacturers will be participating. “The purpose of this event is to introduce young people, families, and members of youth organizations to the safe enjoyment of the shooting sports, as well as many other outdoor sports and activities,” said Ryan Bragg, Chairman of Students for the Second Amendment. “Our primary focus here is safety and education.” TTHA strives to unite all segments of the hunting community for the dissemination of information and joining of energies to promote and protect our hunting heritage.
