THE SHOW MUST GO ON: LONG-RUNNING SYNDICATED SHOW “THE OUTDOORSMAN WITH BUCK MCNEELY” TO CONTINUE; MAX MCNEELY, SON OF THE LATE BUCK MCNEELY, TO ASSUME HOSTING DUTIES OF POPULAR TELEVISION SHOW

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Max McNeely, son of the late Buck McNeely, announces the continuation of the long running syndicated show, “The Outdoorsman with Buck McNeely.”  Buck McNeely, who passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2024, served as host and executive producer of the popular, internationally-syndicated show for 39 years.

Viewed on over 500 stations in the US and Canada, “The Outdoorsman with Buck McNeely” debuted in 1985 on the Fox affiliate KBSI in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and aired on the Tempo Network, USA Network, FOX Sports, The Outdoor Channel and countless other stations and networks. The show featured Buck McNeely, an avid outdoorsman, in locations around the globe fishing, hunting, and sharing his love for outdoor pursuits.

Max McNeely, who has taken over the reins of the program, commented, “It was always my father’s plan to pass the torch to me, but it came along much sooner than we expected. I know that I have incredibly big shoes to fill, but I am certain my father prepared me well for the challenge.”

Max McNeely added that while the name will change to “The Outdoorsman with Max McNeely” viewers can expect few changes to the programming: “Overall, the program will be much the same as it was under my dad’s direction. The show will still focus on exploring new places, sharing adventures, encouraging conservation, and instilling a love of and reverence for the outdoors.”

With plans to begin filming in March 2024, Max McNeely reports that filming will begin with a multi- species Tennessee fishing adventure, followed by filming such additional segments as a Canadian bear hunt, a saltwater Florida fishing trip, and a Kansas pheasant shooting expedition.

McNeely added, “While I am looking forward to exploring new places and rising to the challenge, what is most important to me is continuing my dad’s legacy, inspiring the next generation of outdoorsmen, and carrying on the tradition of good, ethical outdoorsmanship.”

“The Outdoorsman with Max McNeely” is scheduled to debut in May.
