This Week on HSCF’s “Hunting Matters” Radio & Podcast: Willard Franklin, III; Founder and CEO of the Four W’s Fishing Team
Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) and “Hunting Matters” welcomes Willard Franklin, III; Founder and CEO of the Four W’s Fishing Team.
Willard Franklin III is the founder and CEO of the Four W’s Fishing Team. He, along with his family, are dedicated to promoting the outdoors through saltwater fishing. Father and team captain, Willard, has faced discrimination and stereotyping over the years, yet he has successfully risen above and has been uniting the Black community of Galveston, Texas with recreational boating for 4 decades. Inspired by his father who introduced him to fishing as a young boy, Willard continued the tradition with his children. After attending a boat show and leaving with a beautiful, new boat, his house became a favorite of youth in the community. As an avid outdoorsman and angler, Willard has introduced hundreds of teens to the sport. Willard started a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Four W’s Outdoors to help promote the outdoors to underserved youth, women, and more. Four W’s Outdoors specializes in safety, diversity, inclusion, conservation, and careers in the outdoors. Fishing is fun, but Willard has also inspired and guided dozens of teens into marine and outdoor industry careers.
