POMA Announces Session Topics for 2024 Annual Meeting

The Professional Outdoor Media Association is excited to announce the educational and content creation sessions for this year’s POMA Annual Meeting – May 6-8 in Pinewood, South Carolina, hosted by the South Carolina Waterfowl Association.

Each session has been crafted with media members in mind, and will provide multiple pieces of content that can be used as prompts for future articles, blogs, social media posts, etc.

On Monday, May 6, Chef Danny Hieronymus of Hieronymus Provisions and author of the cookbook “Hookin’ and Cookin’ – Southern Coastal Cuisine” will host/sponsor a wild game cooking demo. Chef Danny will walk through a simple, yet elevated recipe you can use to impress your friends and family during your next hunting camp. Chef Danny will also be on-site, preparing all of the meals during the Annual Meeting.

On Tuesday, May 7, there are four Content Creation Sessions. There will be time allotted to attend all of the presentations during these sessions.

Medic Up Consulting: Explore vital first aid techniques within the context of hunting, fishing and outdoor sports. Specifically, the application of tourniquets, the process of wound packing and the use of chest seals. These critical skills are essential for emergency response scenarios often encountered in outdoor activities and will be thoroughly discussed to equip participants with life-saving knowledge.

Riton Optics: It’s not your scope, it’s you. Optics take a lot of blame when it comes to getting dialed in on a rifle setup. The sad truth is, you should probably be giving your scope the same line you gave your ex, “it’s not you, it’s me.” Learn the biggest mistakes you’re making with optics so you can quit making them.

Pulsar: This isn’t Predator (the movie,) this is real life, and thermal imaging is much better than Hollywood circa 1987! Whether hunting predators or feral hogs, nighttime is the right time. Thermal isn’t night vision; it’s 24-hour heat-seeking vision, but it’s true: post-sunset adventures will never be the same after you experience thermal optics. Learn how thermal technology works and the growing list of applications they serve, and get first-hand experience with our flagship thermal imagers. We’re going to OWN the night. Are you game?

Taurus: Topic to be announced at a later date.

There are four Educational Sessions being offered on Wednesday, May 8. Time will be allotted so attendees can listen to all of the presentations during the educational sessions. This portion of the event is sponsored by GunBroker.com and Whitetails Unlimited.
